MIT operation in Qamishli, Syria: Footage released
The MIT conducted an operation against the PKK/YPG in Qamishli, Syria.
The MIT conducted an operation against the PKK/YPG in the city of Qamishli, Syria. During the operation, missiles and heavy weapons left behind by Assad's soldiers were destroyed.
The following statement was made regarding the operation:
The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) determined that the PKK/YPG terrorist organization, which is attempting to gain interests and territory from the developments in Syria, had begun to seize and remove missiles, heavy weapons, and ammunition left behind by the Assad regime in Qamishli, and it acted swiftly to carry out an operation.
Following the end of the Assad regime, the MIT had been closely monitoring developments in the region through its field agents. It was determined by the MIT that the organization had seized missiles, ammunition, heavy weapons, and tanks it had taken over from the regime through illicit agreements, and had begun moving them to its own depots. The organization was planning to use the military equipment and gear belonging to the Syrian people, which it had usurped, against our security forces.
Monitoring the region moment by moment, the MIT detected that organization members were taking advantage of the darkness to load missiles and ammunition onto trucks and were leaving the area in a convoy. Upon this, the MIT decided to launch an operation and destroyed 12 trucks loaded with missiles and heavy weapons, 2 tanks, and 2 ammunition depots that were part of the convoy.
Having completely lost its morale and motivation due to the recent operations in Syria, the organization began spreading the lie that “Qamishli Airport was targeted by Israel and that it was not an operation against the organization” in order to reduce the intense fear among its cadres, who are constantly retreating and trapped to the east of the Euphrates River.
MIT sources noted that in the current situation in Syria, the terrorist organization will not be tolerated to nest along our borders and operate against our country, and that operations against the terrorist organization will continue.
