Russian news agencies stated that the plane, which was en route to Grozny, changed its course due to fog in Grozny.

Azerbaijan Airlines announced that the Embraer 190 aircraft, flight number J2-8243, was flying from Baku to Grozny, the capital of Russia's Chechen region, but was forced to make an emergency landing approximately 3 km from the Kazakh city of Aktau.

25 PEOPLE SURVIVED THE CRASH

Kazakh authorities stated that there were 72 people on board the crashed plane, including 5 flight crew members, and that 25 passengers are still alive.
