The JASAT teams of the Public Security Branch under the Tekirdağ Provincial Gendarmerie Command reported that they captured the women identified as İ.A. (38) and T.S. (64) as part of a planned operation conducted on March 12, 2025. It was stated that the two suspects were apprehended at their residence in the Nusratiye neighborhood of the Süleymanpaşa district. It was noted that the 6th JASAT, the Çorlu District Gendarmerie Command, and the Süleymanpaşa District Gendarmerie Command teams also supported the operation.

In the incident that took place in Çorlu in 2010, the 2-day-old baby girl, born from İ.A.'s boyfriend who was doing his military service, was killed by a decision of the family council. It was revealed that the baby was first strangled to death, then buried in the house's garden, and concrete was poured over her. Following a tip-off, the police searched the specified address and reached the baby's body. As part of the investigation, the mother İ.A., the grandmother T.S., and other members of the family council were taken into custody.

The mother and grandmother, who were being tried while under arrest, were released in 2018 by an interim court decision to be tried without arrest. The court sentenced the two women to aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of 'killing a close relative'. Following the verdict, İ.A. and T.S. constantly changed addresses to cover their tracks. As a result of the meticulous work of the JASAT teams, the two fugitive women were captured and delivered to prison.

Although the incident occurred in 2010, it left deep scars on society. The capture of the mother and grandmother is considered an important step for justice to be served. The two defendants have been sent to prison to serve their sentences.
