Mummy operation in Niğde: 6 detained

In an operation carried out by gendarmerie teams in Niğde, a mummy dating back to the medieval period was seized. 6 people were detained as part of the operation.

After individuals attempting to sell a historical mummy were identified in the Kemerhisar town of Bor district, an operation was conducted by the Niğde Provincial Gendarmerie Command at the determined address. During the operation, a search of the house belonging to an individual named H.G. led to the discovery of a mummy determined to date back to the medieval period. 6 suspects were detained in connection with the incident.

In a statement made by the Niğde Governor's Office, it was stated, "We thank our gendarmerie organization for their devoted efforts in protecting our country's cultural heritage and congratulate them on their successful operation. We reiterate and emphasize our determination to protect our cultural heritage once again."
