While the source of the explosion sound, which also put Coast Guard teams on high alert, has not yet been found, possibilities such as a sonic boom or explosions caused by gas accumulations at the bottom of the sea or underground are being considered.

Following the sound that caused alarm, Coast Guard boats in the Amasra district of Bartın also patrolled the line from the port to international waters, attempting to identify the source of the sound.

EXPLOSION SOUNDS CAUSED FEAR

Citizens, who initially thought it was an earthquake, stated that after each explosion sound and tremor, 4-5 separate explosion sounds were heard in succession, and speculated that the cause of the sound could be gas accumulation or a sonic boom caused by aircraft.

While the source of the mysterious explosion sound, which also became a trending topic on social media, could not be determined, some social media users claimed that the sound was also heard from the Terme district of Samsun.

Social media users tried to learn the cause of the sound for a long time.
