Natural gas explosion in Çorum!

An explosion, believed to have been caused by natural gas, occurred in a building on Osmancık Street.

Following the explosion, numerous fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the area.

According to initial reports, one person lost their life, and there are injured individuals.

Many homes, businesses, and vehicles were damaged due to the explosion.

The scene was closed to traffic, and a security cordon was set up in the area.

STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR ÇALGAN: "1 DEAD, 33 INJURED"

Çorum Governor Ali Çalgan shared the latest status regarding the incident:

"A report of an explosion was received by 112 around 14:45, and our relevant teams immediately arrived at the scene. 34 people were affected by this explosion. Unfortunately, one of our citizens lost their life. Thankfully, none of our injured have life-threatening conditions. Treatment continues for 11 of our injured citizens, while 22 people have been discharged. According to initial findings, it has been determined and assessed that the explosion was caused by natural gas.

Nevertheless, all our research and investigations are continuing. The buildings are completely empty, and our assessments are ongoing. Our crime scene investigation teams are continuing their work. We will host our citizens whose homes were damaged in guesthouses. We will meet all their needs."

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

In a statement made by the Çorum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the explosion in Çorum, it was announced that an investigation into the incident has been launched.
