Within the scope of the investigation
conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, new footage of the moment of the accident has emerged. Following the acquisition of the footage captured by cameras at the exit of the Eurasia Tunnel, it was learned that an additional report is being awaited from the Council of Forensic Medicine.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Motorcycle courier Yunus Emre Göçer, who was seriously injured in the accident that occurred on November 30 at the Aksaray exit of the Eurasia Tunnel, could not be saved despite the interventions at the hospital where he was taken. An international travel ban was imposed on Mohammed Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the son of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who had been released after being detained as part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

The expert report requested by the prosecutor's office to determine the suspect's level of fault concluded that the vehicle driver was "primarily at fault." In the report, the suspect stated that Göçer had suddenly braked and turned right without signaling, and that he had also braked but could not stop in time and hit the motorcycle.

Within the scope of the investigation, an arrest warrant had been issued for the vehicle driver, Mohammed Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. On the other hand, the prosecutor's office also launched an ex officio investigation into the police officers who provided the initial fault assessment report that cleared the driver, as well as allegations that police officers had called Göçer's wife and told her that he had committed suicide.
