Newborn baby found next to trash container
A newborn baby boy was found inside a trash bag next to a trash container in Kastamonu.
Citizens in Kuzeykent Neighborhood, Karadut Street, heard sounds coming from next to a trash container.
BABY FOUND IN TRASH BAG
Those who saw that there was a baby inside the trash bag next to the container reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The baby, who was determined to be alive, was taken to Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital by ambulance.
The hospital's pediatric health and diseases specialist, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eren Yıldız, told the AA reporter that the baby was brought to the emergency room by medical teams.
BABY'S LIFE IS STILL IN DANGER
Stating that they could not estimate the exact time of the baby's birth, Yıldız said, "But we do not think that much time had passed before he was brought to us. It is very likely that it happened today. After performing the initial intervention, we admitted the baby to the neonatal intensive care unit. His general condition is moderate. His life remains in danger."
The police have launched an investigation to apprehend the suspect or suspects who abandoned the baby.
