The crisis that began with the dismissal of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Administration and the appointment of Gürsel Tekin as a trustee continues to grow. Following the support vigil initiated by the CHP Youth Branches, the Istanbul Governor's Office declared a three-day ban on protests. While the provincial building was surrounded by police barriers, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel called on party members to "protect the father's hearth."
Following Özel's call, hundreds of party members, along with members of parliament, gathered in front of the Istanbul Provincial Headquarters. Tension did not subside for a moment during the moments when the barricades were pushed.
NOTABLE MOMENT BETWEEN MAHMUT TANAL AND FEMALE POLICE OFFICER
During the tension, CHP Şanlıurfa MP Mahmut Tanal wanted to help a female police officer who was struggling to carry a heavy load. However, the police officer did not accept this help. The female officer, who was moving with difficulty, continued to carry the bag by herself.
"IT'S A SHAME, HELP OUR COLLEAGUE"
Tanal reacted to this scene and addressed the male police officers nearby: "Why are you making a female police officer carry such a load? All the men are just watching, it's a shame... Help our colleague," he said, drawing attention to the situation.
