Nurettin Yıldız, who drew backlash for his remarks that 'a six-year-old can be married,' was pelted with eggs during his speech at Boğaziçi University.
Nurettin Yıldız, who was attending a conference held at Boğaziçi University, was pelted with eggs while he was speaking at the podium.
Yıldız participated as a speaker in the conference titled "Islamic Sciences: For Whom, How Much?" organized by the Boğaziçi University Islamic Studies Club (BİSAK).
While a protest march against Yıldız was held before the conference, it was observed that police teams intervened harshly against the students.
A large number of students were detained, and some students were injured.
As the protests continued, eggs were thrown at Nurettin Yıldız while he was speaking at the podium to the students who had gathered.
It was learned that the protester was removed from the hall during the ensuing scuffle.
