Operation Kafes-46 in Bursa: 3 separate organized crime groups dismantled

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated in a post on his social media account that in the simultaneous "Kafes-46" operations conducted in Bursa, three separate organized crime groups were dismantled: one led by Bülent Çetkin, one led by Osman Deliçay, and one led by Muhammet Tayyar Türkeş (who is a fugitive abroad).

Stating that 47 suspects, including two of the group leaders, were apprehended in the operations, Minister Yerlikaya shared the following details:

"I want our noble nation to know that; no matter how large they are, we will not give any breathing room to organized crime groups and gangs that disturb the peace of our families, with the prayers and support of our nation. Our operations against organized crime groups will continue uninterrupted, whether at dawn or at dusk.

Under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security's Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime, and as a result of the work carried out by the Bursa Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch, it was determined that the organized crime groups: became partners in businesses through official channels, subsequently forced other partners out of the business by threatening them, established so-called courts to make decisions regarding individuals with whom they had disputes and demanded money in return, intervened in debt disputes between individuals to collect debts through violence and force, carried out armed intentional injury acts, and obtained unfair gains by extorting money from individuals through threats.

As a result of the operations; 15 unlicensed pistols, 2 automatic rifles, 1 assassination pen gun, and a large number of bulletproof vests were seized.
