Passenger bus overturns in Kastamonu: Many dead and injured!

The passenger bus with license plate 34 ESY 73, belonging to Türkay Turizm and driven by Orhan Çelik, overturned into a field near the Alatarla village.

Upon notification, numerous gendarmerie, fire department, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

In the accident, 6 people lost their lives, and 33 people were injured, 3 of them critically.

The injured, including the driver, were extracted from the vehicle by teams and taken to nearby hospitals.

Efforts to remove the bus using heavy machinery are ongoing.

Kastamonu Governor Meftun Dallı, who conducted inspections at the scene, told reporters that the bus was traveling from Istanbul to the Ayancık district of Sinop.

Stating that the bus overturned at 05:50, Dallı said, "6 of our citizens lost their lives in the accident. We have 33 injured. We have received information that 3 of them are in critical condition. All of the injured have been transported to hospitals and are currently under treatment."
