PKK terrorist organization leader Öcalan reportedly puts forward 'two conditions' during contact: Details of the meeting in İmralı

The first visit to İmralı in approximately 4.5 years has taken place.

DEM Party Şanlıurfa MP Ömer Öcalan announced that he met with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Making a statement on his social media account, Ömer Öcalan stated that the last face-to-face meeting with Abdullah Öcalan was held on March 3, 2020.

Ömer Öcalan said, "As a family, we held a meeting on October 23, 2024, after many years. We want routine family visits, which are a legal right, to continue regardless of the circumstances."

DETAILS OF THE MEETING HAVE EMERGED

Speaking on the program "Nokta Atışı" broadcast on Sözcü TV, journalist Altan Sancar revealed the details of the meeting held in İmralı. Starting his remarks by stating that the conversation lasted one hour and 45 minutes and was recorded in audio and video by the Ministry of Justice from beginning to end, Sancar continued with the following statements:

The meeting between the two took place with a 10-day delay, but there is no clear information as to why. The Ministry of Justice called DEM Party's Ömer Öcalan and said you can hold the meeting.

Republic of Turkey officials refer to the meeting as a 'contact process.' The contact is being discussed in line with Bahçeli's call. The primary expectation is definitely for the laying down of arms; it is said that if you are going to announce to the Turkish public that arms are being laid down unconditionally, you must declare this to everyone.

First, he requests a guarantor country, and my opinion is that this country could be America.

As a second condition, he demands legal guarantees, meaning that these discussions should be placed within a legal framework.

Öcalan states in the meeting that there is no process currently underway and that the parties have not reached any stage, noting that this is merely a contact.

Health issues were discussed between his nephew and Öcalan, and he conveyed that his health is in good condition.

Ömer Öcalan had stated that the isolation continues, and it is noted that Öcalan has a request to meet with his lawyers.

They want his lawyers to come to the island to meet with him, and it is said that as long as this does not happen, one cannot speak of the isolation being lifted.
