Pregnant woman gives birth on the Metrobus
In Istanbul's Esenyurt district, 35-week pregnant Hanife Mete gave birth on a Metrobus while on her way to the hospital for a check-up.
In the incident that occurred in the morning, Hanife Mete, who boarded the Metrobus from Avcılar to go to the hospital for a check-up, gave birth on the vehicle. As they reached Cennet Mahallesi on the Metrobus, Mete began to experience labor pains and was unable to get off the vehicle, stating that the birth had begun. Immediately after the birth took place inside the Metrobus, the mother and baby were taken to Esenyurt Necmi Kadıoğlu State Hospital by ambulance. It was announced that the mother and baby, who underwent initial examinations by medical teams, are in good condition.
Upon hearing the news, Esenyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özer and Dilek İmamoğlu, the wife of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, visited the mother at the hospital. During the visit, Özer and İmamoğlu presented flowers to the mother and conveyed their best wishes to the father.
'THEY MADE US VERY HAPPY'
The baby's father, Cemal Mete, expressed that he was experiencing both surprise and happiness, saying: “We woke up in the morning and were going to the hospital. While we were going to the hospital by Metrobus, my wife suddenly started having labor pains and the birth took place. After this incident, Dilek İmamoğlu and Esenyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. Ahmet Özer came to visit. They made us very happy. May God be pleased with them for taking an interest in us. I have a baby boy, and I am very happy because of this. I would like to thank everyone once again who did not leave us alone here today.”
