Unions that gathered in Saraçhane to march to Taksim Square for May 1st Labor Day encountered a police barricade at the Valens Aqueduct.
Pepper spray was used during the scuffle that broke out in the area.
Many members of the press were affected by the gas and were forced to broadcast while wearing gas masks.
REACTION TO A HABER REPORTER
Those in the area reacted to an A Haber reporter who was broadcasting from the scene. A group told the reporter, "What are you doing here? You are lying," and used expressions such as, "Liar, get out of here. You are the biggest liar of all."
