The holiday bonus for retirees has increased by 1,000 TL in 2025, rising from 3,000 TL to 4,000 TL.
The figure sparked a backlash from retirees, who are struggling to fill their refrigerators against inflation and whose income remains below the hunger and poverty thresholds. President Erdoğan defended the bonus, which failed to meet expectations, with the words, "What more could there be?"
12punto asked retirees on the street about the announced bonus figure. Citizens expressed their outrage.
