Scandal at Cleopatra Beach: Tourist attacked over sunbed!
At the famous Cleopatra Beach in Alanya, a tourist who did not want to pay for a sunbed was attacked by facility staff after laying their towel on the sand.
An incident at the world-famous Cleopatra Beach in the Alanya district of Antalya has brought the issue of beach occupation back to the agenda.
A tourist, stating that the sunbed fee was too high, wanted to sunbathe by laying their towel directly on the sand. However, this situation drew the reaction of the facility staff operating the beach.
When the tourist did not heed the warnings, the staff physically attacked them. The moment of the assault was recorded by other tourists in the area with their mobile phones. The moments when the tourist was beaten were clearly visible in the footage.
BEACHES AND SHORELINES BELONG TO THE PUBLIC
Former CHP Bursa Deputy Dr. Ceyhun İrgil reacted harshly to the incident on his social media account. İrgil stated the following:
“According to the Constitution, coastlines, bays, beaches, and shorelines belong to the public. In recent years, the occupation of beaches has reached unbearable levels. Those who seize the coastlines treat these places as if they were their own property. Tourists are being beaten, and citizens are being pushed around. This is unacceptable!”
