The terrorist organization PKK announced in a historic statement following its 12th Congress held today that it has ended its armed struggle and dissolved the activities it conducted under the name "PKK".
The statement issued by the organization included the following: "The 12th PKK Congress has terminated the work carried out under the name PKK in line with the call of Leader Apo."

Immediately after the announcement, people took to the streets in many cities, primarily in Diyarbakır. Celebrations were held in squares, traditional halay dances were performed, and ululations were heard. Enthusiastic moments were experienced in Diyarbakır, which became the center of the celebrations.
