The incidents took place at two different wedding halls located on Kozan Street in the Yıldırım Beyazıt neighborhood of the Sarıçam district. According to the information received, the suspect, S.E., first attended the wedding of the couple L.B. and I.S.B. During the gift-giving ceremony, he told the guests, "Don't bother, I'll drop the envelope in," and took the envelope full of money. However, he dropped an empty envelope into the gift box instead.

The suspect stole approximately 60,000 TL using this method. A few days later, the suspect went to the wedding of the couple A.Ü. and S.Ü. using a similar method, where he served water to the bride and groom and acted in a friendly manner toward those around him. The suspect, S.E., then took the money from the gift box "under the pretext of counting it."

A short while after counting, the suspect put the money in his pockets without drawing anyone's attention and left the hall. In the footage captured by the video recordings of both weddings, the moments when S.E. approached the box with a relaxed demeanor and took the money were visible.

"I ATE CAKE, AND WHEN I SAW THE MONEY AT THE GIFT CEREMONY, I COULDN'T RESIST"

Upon noticing the missing amounts during the counts conducted after the weddings, the couples applied to the police. Teams from the Provincial Police Department's Public Security Branch, Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau, identified the suspect using a facial recognition system. The suspect was caught in an operation carried out at his home. It was learned that the individual, who was taken to the police station, said in his statement, "I saw there was a wedding, I went inside, I ate cake, and then when I saw the money at the gift ceremony, I couldn't resist and stole it. I took 6,000 TL and 200 dollars."

The suspect, S.E., was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
