Shot inside the car: Family of 12-year-old boy struggled to stand
In Uşak, 12-year-old Emirhan Karahan lost his life as a result of gunfire opened on a vehicle. At the funeral of the child, who was laid to rest, his mother and father struggled to stand. The number of people detained in connection with the horrific incident has risen to 7.
The latest example of the increasing number of violent incidents in Turkey occurred in Uşak. Last night, in the Mehmet Akif Ersoy neighborhood in the city center, unidentified person or persons opened fire on a light commercial vehicle driven by E. Karahan. 12-year-old Emirhan Karahan, who was inside the vehicle, was critically wounded after being struck by bullets. The child, who was rushed to Uşak Training and Research Hospital, could not be saved.
Following the completion of the autopsy procedures, Emirhan Karahan was laid to rest. The child's mother and father struggled to stand at the funeral. The 12-year-old child's body was buried in Çevreköy Cemetery following the ceremony held.
Police teams have expanded the investigation launched into the incident. The number of suspects detained in connection with the event has risen to 7.
