Statement from the Ministry of National Defense: Rocket from conflict in Syria lands in Kilis

TAF DID NOT ENGAGE IN CONFLICT
In the evening hours, a rocket coming from the Syrian side landed in the rural area of Kilis, near the Oylum mound and the Akıncılar region.
According to a statement from security sources, a fire broke out after the rocket landed in the minefield, but it was reported that the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) did not engage in any conflict. It was stated that no response was made to the situation.
STATEMENT FROM THE KILIS GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
The Kilis Governor's Office stated that the footage regarding the clashes in the region today belongs to the Syrian side of the border, adding, "There has been no attack on Kilis in the incident."
The written statement from the Governor's Office noted the following:
"Today, at approximately 17:53, during a clash between two SNA groups in the region within Syrian borders, opposite the Akıncı village in central Kilis, one RPG-7 rocket hit the minefield and caused a fire in the vegetation in that area.
The footage circulating on social media belongs to the Syrian side of the border.
There has been no attack on Kilis in the incident."
STATEMENT FROM THE CENTER FOR COMBATING DISINFORMATION
The Presidency's Directorate of Communications Center for Combating Disinformation reported that the claim that "an attack was carried out against Turkey from the Syrian border" is not true.
In the statement made by the Center for Combating Disinformation, it was stated that an RPG-7 projectile from a conflict on the Turkey-Syria border landed in a minefield and caused a fire.
The statement included the following: "The Turkish Armed Forces have no involvement in the conflict taking place in Syria. There is no attack on our borders. Do not rely on statements made outside of official sources."
