Stray dog attack in Ankara caught on camera: Father trying to save his daughter ends up in hospital with baby in his arms

The incident occurred on Thursday, November 24, 2023, around 9:00 PM on 38th Street in the Bahçelerüstü neighborhood of Ankara's Mamak district. According to the information received, the father, Mustafa Tekin, was returning from a visit to relatives with his wife and 3 children.

As they entered the street where their home is located, 4 stray dogs attacked their daughter Elif, who is in the 2nd grade. Seeing the dogs attacking Elif, the father, Mustafa Tekin, began to run to save his daughter while holding his 1-year-old son, Yusuf, in his arms.

Running to save his daughter from the dogs, father Tekin lost his balance and fell with Yusuf in his arms. Seeing the father running, the dogs fled. Little Yusuf, who was severely injured during the fall, and father Tekin, whose arm was dislocated, went to the hospital on their own.

Meanwhile, the moments when the dogs attacked the little girl and the father fell while running to save her with his child in his arms were captured by security cameras.

“I COULDN'T STAND SEEING THE DOGS ATTACK MY DAUGHTER”

Father Tekin, who wanted to save his daughter from the stray dogs, said, “We were coming back from visiting guests, around 9 in the evening, when my daughter ran ahead and a pack of dogs attacked her near the trash bins. I couldn't stand it; I had my little baby in my arms, he is 1 year old, and I fell while running to save my daughter. Of course, when I fell, the dogs ran away. We are in a difficult situation; my child's face was torn, my arm was dislocated, and I haven't been able to go to work for 20 days. I can't send my child to school because of the dogs, wondering if she can do anything on her own, if she can defend herself. I want a solution to be found for this.”

“I WAS VERY SCARED”

Elif, who was attacked by the dogs, said, “I was very scared and ran forward. I go to school at 8:30 in the morning, and sometimes there are dogs around our school. Because that incident happened, I don't have the courage to go out, so I am afraid of the dogs.”
