Suicide at the 15 July Martyrs Bridge

The incident occurred on the morning of November 10 on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge. According to the information obtained, a man got out of his vehicle on the bridge and moved toward the railings.

Ignoring the pleas of bystanders to "stop, don't do it," the individual threw himself off the bridge. The terrifying moments were captured on camera. Following the incident, fire department teams arrived upon notification and conducted a search along the Beylerbeyi coast, but the man's body was not initially found. In the ongoing efforts, the body was eventually recovered and taken first to the shore and then to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.

Meanwhile, police teams investigating the incident discovered that the deceased was N.Ç. (29), a relative of Sabri Çelebi—known to the public as "Palalı Sabri" (Sabri the Machete-wielder), who was seen chasing protesters with a machete during the Gezi Park protests. It was determined that N.Ç., who had 14 prior criminal records, was a partner in a nightclub in Beyoğlu and was estranged from his family.
