The processing of the 94 suspects detained within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the armed attack on the police checkpoint in front of the Istanbul Justice Palace in Çağlayan by DHKP/C terrorist organization members Emrah Yayla and Pınar Birkoç continues at the police headquarters.
Those among the suspects who completed their 24-hour detention period were brought to Bayrampaşa State Hospital by bus.
The suspects chanted various slogans upon entering the hospital. After undergoing medical check-ups, the suspects were taken back to the police headquarters.
The 2 terrorists who opened fire with weapons at the police checkpoint in front of the Istanbul Courthouse on February 6 were neutralized, while a citizen named Dilfiraz Karataş lost her life and 6 people, including 3 police officers, were injured.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya had announced in a statement following the attack that 40 people had been detained in operations carried out at 25 addresses as part of the investigation, and that the operations were ongoing.
The number of detainees has since risen to 94 as part of the ongoing operations.
