They carried out attacks on a police station and a prosecutor's vehicle

The operation was carried out as a result of the coordinated work of the Istanbul Counter-Terrorism (TEM) Branch and the Intelligence Branch. In the efforts conducted by police teams to uncover the activities of the terrorist organization DHKP/C, 17 suspects were identified.

PROSECUTOR ÇALIŞKAN'S VEHICLE HAD BEEN SHOT AT

It was stated that among the suspects identified by the police was a suspect who carried out an armed attack on the Gazi Police Station. It was noted that one of the suspects was part of the structure that carried out the shooting of Prosecutor Evliya Çalışkan's vehicle in 2016. It was learned that the suspect, I.K., conducted reconnaissance for the attack and determined the location where the act would take place. It was stated that suspects involved in the looting of a market in Sultangazi were also identified within the scope of the investigation.

An operation was conducted this morning to apprehend the suspects, who also include individuals who carried out wounding and punishment actions within the organization.

12 SUSPECTS APPREHENDED

12 suspects were detained in an operation targeting 16 addresses in Istanbul and 1 address in Tunceli. During the searches, 2 9-millimeter caliber pistols, 1 blank-firing pistol, and 27 cartridges were seized. Numerous digital materials belonging to the suspects were also confiscated for examination.
