Thief who stole donation box for child with SMA caught

The incident occurred on December 8 at an internet cafe located in the Kurttepe neighborhood of the Çukurova district. According to the information received, Abdulkadir İ. (24) first entered the internet cafe as a customer and sat at a computer.

After a while, the suspect got up and stole the donation box placed there for a child with SMA. The suspect, who put the donation box in his jacket pocket, then disappeared.

The moment of the incident was captured second-by-second on the workplace's security camera. When the business owner, Süleyman Ö. (58), realized the donation box had been stolen, he reported the situation to the police.

HE WAS WANTED WITH A FINALIZED 6-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE FOR THEFT

The Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau teams examined the security cameras along the route and identified the suspect's address. Abdulkadir İ., who was wanted for a 6-year and 1-month prison sentence for a previous theft crime, was caught after stealing the donation box.

The theft police caught the individual at his home. The suspect, who was taken in for questioning at the police station, said, "I broke the piggy bank with a stone in a nearby abandoned building and took the money inside."

After his procedures at the police station, Abdulkadir İ. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court.
