This time they 'stoned the devil' as part of the ÇEDES project: They threw stones at classroom walls and performed 'tawaf'!
As part of the ÇEDES project, which has been a subject of controversy in the secular education system, a 'devil stoning' rehearsal was held at a school in Bitlis. Students also performed tawaf around a model of the Kaaba.
ÇEDES project-related scandals continue to emerge across the country every day.
According to a report by Cengiz Karagöz from Cumhuriyet, an application that will take these controversies to another level has come to the fore at Nurs Secondary School in the Hizan district of Bitlis.
In order to "teach the Hajj pilgrimage" to the school's 7th-grade students, a model representing the Kaaba was placed in the classroom.
The students, who performed tawaf around this model, later held a devil-stoning rehearsal in the classroom.
As part of the devil-stoning rehearsal, the students threw stones at the classroom walls.
FROM SCHOOL TO MOSQUE
The practices criticized under the scope of ÇEDES were not limited to this. Five-year-old students attending the Çağdaş Yaşam Kenan Tunakan Kindergarten in Şarkışla, Sivas, were taken to a mosque.
Meanwhile, the Çekmeköy District Directorate of National Education in Istanbul called students to morning prayer under the title "Together in peace."
