Traffic tragedy in Adana: Drunk driver takes a life! The moment caught on camera

In a traffic accident that occurred in the Seyhan district of Adana, an electric bicycle rider lost his life. It was determined that the driver, who fled the scene after the accident, was caught 4 hours later at the house where he was hiding and had a blood alcohol level of 0.90 promille in the test conducted.

The incident took place on February 18 on Alparslan Türkeş Boulevard in the Yurt neighborhood of Seyhan district. Aydın Uslu, who was traveling on his electric bicycle, rear-ended a light commercial vehicle driven by Şükrü D. (22). While Uslu was thrown onto the road by the impact and seriously injured, the light commercial vehicle lost control and hit an electric pole.

Following the accident, Şükrü D. and his two friends who were with him abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. The moment of the accident was captured second by second by security cameras in the vicinity.

Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the area. The medical teams determined that Aydın Uslu had lost his life. Uslu's body was laid to rest in Küçükoba Cemetery following an autopsy.

CAUGHT BY POLICE WITHIN 4 HOURS

The Homicide Bureau of the Public Security Branch launched an operation to apprehend the driver who fled after the accident. During the investigation, photos of Şükrü D. drinking alcohol were found on his social media account. The suspect, whose hiding place was identified as a result of the pursuit, was caught by police teams.

Şükrü D., who was determined to have a blood alcohol level of 0.90 promille in the test conducted upon his arrest, was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the police station. The driver was brought before the court, arrested, and sent to prison.
