Tray found inside concrete of building being demolished: Citizens' lives disregarded!
In Adana, a tray was discovered at a concrete bonding point in the heavily damaged İnci Apartment building, which is currently being demolished. Regarding the situation, which left citizens in shock, Hasan Aksungur, Head of the Adana Branch of the Chamber of Civil Engineers, said, "I have never encountered such a sight before."
In Adana, which was affected by the earthquake, demolition work on heavily damaged buildings continues. A tray was found at a concrete bonding point in one of the heavily damaged buildings.
While the demolition of the 12-story İnci Apartment, located in the Yurt neighborhood of the central Çukurova district, which was heavily damaged in the earthquake, was underway, workers found a tray at a concrete bonding point on the 8th floor. After noticing the tray, the workers took a photo and shared it on social media before continuing the demolition.
"THE TRAY MUST HAVE BEEN LEFT BY WORKERS MAKING MENEMEN"
Speaking to journalists about the photo, Hasan Aksungur, Head of the Adana Branch of the Chamber of Civil Engineers of the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB), stated, "This lintel is not a load-bearing element in the building. These are elements containing 4 rebars, made only to hold the curtain wall to be built over the window. It has nothing to do with the building's load-bearing components. I have never encountered such a sight before. The workers on the construction site must have been making menemen and either as a prank or inadvertently, another group placed it over the window," he said.
Aksungur pointed out that inspections must be carried out more strictly, stating, "Inspections are of great importance, especially in the planning, project design, and construction processes. If any link in this three-legged stool weakens, collapses become inevitable. For this reason, inspections must be carried out regularly," he added.

"IT SHOULD NOT BE THIS SIMPLE"
İbrahim Lübiç, one of the neighborhood residents, expressed his shock at the sight of the tray, saying, "I think human life should not be this worthless." Another neighborhood resident, Esma Güzel, said, "Buildings being constructed should be built meticulously and subjected to regular inspections. It is important that human life is not this simple," she said.
