Truck driver failing to maintain following distance kills scooter rider Ecem
In Pendik, a truck closed the following distance and caused the death of Ecem Sultan Çamlı, who was on a scooter. While the terrifying moments were captured on camera, the driver was taken into custody.
The accident occurred at approximately 08:45 on Osmanlı Boulevard in the Yenişehir neighborhood. The truck without a trailer, driven by 24-year-old Hasan Furkan Çolak, closed the following distance, approached the scooter ridden by Ecem Sultan Çamlı, and dragged her for 150 meters before running her over.
Çamlı, who was seriously injured in the accident, lost her life at the hospital where she was taken by ambulance following the report.
The driver was taken into custody at the scene. The police have launched an investigation into the accident.
