Water purification devices installed by the TKP in Defne disconnected by Enerjisa
Water purification devices installed by the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) in the Defne district of Hatay following the earthquake have been disconnected by Enerjisa. Residents in Defne have reacted to the situation.
The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) reported that the 'water purification devices' it installed to address the water crisis in the Defne district of Hatay were disconnected by Enerjisa officials.
THEY ALSO CUT ELECTRICITY TO RESIDENTIAL AREAS
The water problem, particularly in earthquake-affected regions, had become a major issue for the public. Enerjisa, which disconnected the TKP's water purification devices, also cut the electricity for people living in containers in the surrounding area and locked the transformer panels. Following public outcry, Enerjisa officials issued threats, stating, "There is a penalty if you turn this on or connect electricity here."
"THEY LEFT THE PUBLIC WITHOUT WATER AND ELECTRICITY"
Regarding the incident, TKP Defne Mayoral Candidate Hizam Hasırcı made the following statement:
"The electricity for the purification device in Kamil Yasin Yolcu Park in Çekmece Neighborhood, one of the water purification devices installed by the Communist Party of Turkey in the neighborhoods, was cut off by Enerjisa officials today. Those who have failed to provide drinking water to the public even ten months after the earthquake are now taking every step to cut the electricity for the public's drinking water and leave them without water. Furthermore, the electricity for people staying in tents and containers around the purification device was also cut, and the transformer panel was locked. Afterwards, they threatened the public by saying, 'there is a penalty if you turn this on or connect electricity here.' If the electricity is not reconnected, we will hold a press statement together in front of Enerjisa tomorrow."
