What kind of ban is this? They held a protest in Taksim with caliphate flags

A cartoon published in LeMan magazine has been subjected to legal proceedings on charges of 'insulting religious values.' As part of the investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 4 people, including the creator of the work, the editors-in-chief, and the responsible managing editor, were detained.

ATTACK ON THE MAGAZINE BUILDING

While the repercussions of the investigation continued, an attack was carried out by unidentified individuals on the LeMan magazine's cultural venue located on Istiklal Street in Beyoğlu yesterday evening. While there was no loss of life in the incident, security measures were increased.

24-HOUR EVENT BAN

Following the attack, the Beyoğlu District Governorate announced that it had banned all outdoor events in the district on the grounds of public order. In the statement, which cited the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911 and the Provincial Administration Law, it was stated that for 24 hours starting from 00:01 on July 1st;

Meetings, marches, press statements, distribution of leaflets, and sit-in protests were banned,

The area extending to Taksim Square, Gezi Park, Istiklal Street, and Galatasaray Square was closed off with police barriers,

It was reported that pedestrian and vehicle traffic could be blocked at different points in the district if deemed necessary.

GROUPS WITH CALIPHATE FLAGS GATHERED DESPITE THE BAN

Despite the ban, some religious groups gathered around the Taksim Mosque and held a protest against LeMan magazine. The group, chanting slogans with caliphate flags and banners in their hands, continued to wait at the entrance of the mosque. Security forces surrounded the area in a controlled manner instead of dispersing the crowd.
