Workshop found behind a closet: 'Glock' pistols at half price from the manufacturer

Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Bureau conducted an operation on a building in Ümraniye as part of efforts to apprehend individuals involved in the manufacture, trade, and smuggling of weapons, and to identify those supplying arms to criminal organizations. When the police entered, everything appeared normal. Upon opening the door of a closet at the entrance, the officers discovered a door leading to a workshop. Inside, the police seized a large number of imitation Glock pistols. It was learned that while the original pistols are sold for 4,000 dollars, the manufacturers were selling these weapons for 60,000 TL.

73 WEAPONS SEIZED

During the operation, 5 suspects identified as Y.M.V., M.Y., O.K., S.Ç., and M.A. were taken into custody. Searches conducted at the suspects' workplaces, residences, and vehicles resulted in the seizure of 4 illegal weapons workshops, 73 pistols, 57 magazines for these pistols, 4,985 pistol frames, 2,074 pistol slides, 1,087 open-ended gun barrels, 4,000 parts for manufacturing weapons (trigger assemblies, pins, recoil springs, shafts, extractors), 4,192 gun cases in 252 boxes, 2 gun case molds, 4 gun frame molds, 3 magazine molds, 6 laser printers, 3 vises, 5 test-fire containers containing spent casings, 1 bag of polymer raw material used in gun frame production, 1 ballistic vest, and 22,155 lira in cash.

Following their interrogations, 4 of the suspects were referred to court and sent to prison, while M.A. was released under judicial control.
