Muhammet Ustabaş, who opened fire on villagers opposing a recreational area project in the Hopa district of Artvin and attempting to stop construction machinery, killing 1 person and injuring 2 others, has been arrested.
Muhammet Ustabaş had opened fire on the villagers who were opposing the planned recreational area project in the Cankurtaran area of Hopa and trying to stop the construction machinery.
Reşit Kibar, one of the villagers, lost his life in the incident. The treatment of the injured, Ersan Koyuncu and Gökhan Koyuncu, continues at Hopa State Hospital.
The other suspect, Fikret M., was released under judicial control conditions.
