Violent explosion in Iran: 115 people injured

It has been reported that the number of people injured in a violent explosion of unknown cause at the Bandar Abbas Port, located on the Persian Gulf coast in southern Iran, has risen to 115.

Speaking to Iranian state television, Hormozgan Emergency Services Spokesperson Hossein Ghasemi announced that the number of those injured in the explosion at the Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas has reached 115.

No information was provided regarding potential fatalities.

A violent explosion occurred around noon at the Bandar Abbas Port, located on the Persian Gulf coast in southern Iran.

It was initially announced that the incident was caused by the explosion of some containers at the port, and according to initial findings, 47 people were injured, with the number of injured later rising to 80.

The cause of the explosion is still unknown.

Reports in the country's media stated that the force of the explosion damaged a building at the port and shattered the windows of surrounding buildings.
