Visits from Turkey to Syria continue: This time a delegation from the Ministry of Energy is going

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced in a statement following the Presidential Cabinet meeting yesterday that a delegation will be sent to Syria as soon as possible. Bayraktar stated that the delegation will examine the electricity and energy infrastructure and that issues of cooperation and assistance will be discussed.

ELECTRICITY PROBLEM IS THE PRIORITY TARGET

Emphasizing that the biggest problem in the energy sector in Syria is electricity, Bayraktar said that efforts will be made to produce solutions in this regard. It was stated that various formulas will be worked on to meet the electricity needs in Syria.

ELECTRICITY AID TO LEBANON ALSO ON THE AGENDA 

Minister Bayraktar conveyed that the electricity problem in Lebanon is also on the agenda and that work could be carried out for that country in the coming period as well. Stating that Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati had mentioned the electricity shortages in the country, Bayraktar said that the necessary steps could be taken for a solution.

INTELLIGENCE CHIEF AND FOREIGN MINISTER ALSO IN DAMASCUS 

National Intelligence Organization (MİT) Chief İbrahim Kalın and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan paid visits to the Syrian capital, Damascus, on December 12 and 22, respectively. Kalın performed prayers at the Umayyad Mosque, while Fidan met with HTS leader Muhammad al-Julani and held a joint press conference.

ERDOĞAN TO VISIT DAMASCUS 

Burhan Köroğlu, Chargé d'Affaires of the Damascus Embassy, announced that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also plans to visit Damascus in the near future.
