In the March 31 Local Administration General Elections, citizens living in the village went to the polls again for a repeat headman election, which was held following the resignation of the elected headman, Sadullah Kılınç, and some council members in the wake of an armed clash that left 1 person dead and 4 injured.

For security reasons, the ballot box was set up at the Gökçebağ Primary School in the Gökçebağ town center.

The sole candidate for the headmanship was Okan Altın, the son of the late headman candidate İhsan Altın, who lost his life in the armed clash.

ONLY 8 PEOPLE VOTED

In the village, which has 72 registered voters, only 8 people cast their votes. Okan Altın received all the votes and was elected headman.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

During the March 31 Local Administration General Elections in Konacık village, an armed clash broke out between two groups during the voting process for the headman election, resulting in the death of candidate İhsan Altın and injuries to 4 others. The suspect, B.K., was apprehended with the weapon used in the crime and was subsequently arrested by the court to which he was referred.

The election was ordered to be repeated following the resignation of the elected headman, Sadullah Kılınç, and some council members.
