As a result of a major operation held in Albania, Turkish drug kingpin N.Ö. has been captured. In the operation jointly conducted by Albanian, German, and Europol teams, 57-year-old N.Ö. was arrested.

THE WANTED NAME BEHIND THE 703-KILOGRAM HEROIN SHIPMENT

N.Ö. was wanted as the perpetrator of a major drug shipment from Iran to Europe in 2022. In that shipment, 703 kilograms of heroin were discovered upon reaching the Port of Hamburg. N.Ö. had organized this major shipment by partnering with Iranian drug baron Naci Zindaşti.

EXPECTED TO BE EXTRADITED TO GERMANY

N.Ö., who is expected to be extradited from Albania to Germany, was captured while arriving at Rinas Airport from Istanbul. Additionally, the American Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) had also been tracking N.Ö.

ANOTHER GANG DISMANTLED

Three members of the drug gang led by N.Ö. were also captured. The members of the gang, who were tried for drug shipments carried out between 2019 and 2022, were sentenced to 10 years in prison each. It is stated that N.Ö.'s name does not appear in any drug trafficking cases in Turkey, but he is the leader of an international gang.

The home of N.Ö.'s girlfriend in the Netherlands was also raided and searched. Investigations regarding the drug trafficking continue.
