Warning from Özgür Demirtaş to Facebook and Instagram: You are making money from scammers
Economist Özgür Demirtaş has addressed the Turkey representatives of Facebook and Instagram regarding scams that specifically use the faces of celebrities on social media platforms.
Social media platforms are among the areas where digital fraud is most frequently practiced. Scammers, who use the faces of famous figures to make it appear as though these individuals are making the posts, are stealing the hard-earned money of citizens.
Stating that he has issued warnings repeatedly regarding this method of fraud, Özgür Demirtaş issued a final warning regarding the closure of such accounts and wrote the following:
I am addressing the Turkey representatives of Facebook and Instagram from here:
Fraud is being committed using the photos and names of trusted people, including myself.
Even though they are reported, you do not remove the content. Because you are earning sponsorship money from the scammers.
This issue will grow much larger. Shut down these fraudulent accounts.
