The Sivas Governor's Office stated in a post on its social media account that paying attention to ticks, which cause Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), will help prevent potential illness and death.

The statement, which emphasized that ticks should not be underestimated, urged citizens to take precautions such as wearing clothing that covers the body and tucking pant legs into socks when visiting areas at risk for ticks, such as fields, gardens, and barns.

In the statement, which warned against letting one's guard down against ticks, the phrase "If a tick has attached itself to your body, go to the nearest healthcare facility immediately" was used.
