The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued a warning regarding allegations circulating on social media and digital platforms concerning the fund investigation. The Prosecutor's Office stated that it has identified posts that do not reflect the truth and target individuals or institutions regarding the content of the investigation.
The statement noted that the examination of information, documents, and reports received from the Capital Markets Board (SPK), Borsa İstanbul, the Central Securities Depository (MKK), and other relevant institutions and organizations within the scope of the investigation is ongoing.
The Prosecutor's Office emphasized that some content published on digital platforms is misleading to the public. It was stated that such posts could be evaluated within the scope of the crime of "publicly disseminating misleading information," which is regulated under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code.
"The public dissemination of false information will be evaluated within the scope of the crime of 'publicly disseminating misleading information' regulated under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code, and the necessary legal proceedings will be initiated ex officio by our Prosecutor's Office against those who make these posts."
The Prosecutor's Office announced that legal action will be taken against misleading posts made on social media and digital platforms while the official process regarding the investigation continues.
