Was there a 200 percent raise for the trustees appointed to THK? Official statement released

The Presidency's Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has issued a statement on social media regarding the claim that "the trustees appointed to the Turkish Aeronautical Association hired two thousand people and gave themselves a 200 percent salary raise."

The statement reported that the claims appearing in some media outlets are untrue, noting that no such hiring of two thousand people has taken place since the trustee administration began at the Turkish Aeronautical Association, and emphasized that the total number of employees within the Turkish Aeronautical Association is 963.

While stating that the claim of a 200 percent raise for the trustee board does not reflect the truth, the statement continued with the following remarks:

"The trustee fee is determined by the court and is 1.3 times the minimum wage. The trustee fee is lower than the salary received by the support staff earning the lowest wage in the institution. The trustee board has reduced the debt of the Turkish Aeronautical Association, which it took over with 140 million dollars in debt, down to 99 million dollars. Through these efforts, the institution's revenues were increased by 142 percent in the last year, while expenses were reduced by 22 percent, and the debt burden was lowered to 99 million dollars."
