Was wheat received from Ukraine in exchange for UAVs and UCAVs? Statement from the Ministry of Trade regarding the issue

The Ministry of Trade stated that the claim appearing in some media outlets and circulating on social media that "Ukraine made payments for UAVs and UCAVs in wheat" does not reflect the truth. The Ministry emphasized that these allegations are intended to mislead the public.

'WHEAT IMPORT SUSPENDED'

The Ministry reminded that a 130 percent customs duty is applied to wheat imports into the country to protect farmers. Furthermore, it stated that wheat imports were suspended between June 21 and October 15, 2024, within the scope of the Inward Processing Regime.

'AN ATTEMPT TO CAST A SHADOW OVER TURKEY'S SUCCESS'

The statement pointed out that these allegations are deliberate attempts to cast a shadow over Turkey's success in the defense industry. It was once again emphasized that trade between Turkey and Ukraine is based on transparent data and that the allegations do not reflect the truth.
