Water price hike in İzmir for the new year
The İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has decided to implement a 26 percent increase in the price per cubic meter of water and the wastewater tariff, effective from January 1, 2025.
The second session of the İZSU November 2024 Ordinary General Assembly meeting was held at the Assembly Hall in the Kültürpark Fairgrounds, chaired by Metropolitan Mayor Cemil Tugay.
In the session where the 2025 Fiscal Year Budget Draft and Performance Program were discussed, the budget, which allocates 420 million liras for dredging and sludge removal works in the Gulf of İzmir, and a 26 percent increase in the price per cubic meter of water and the wastewater tariff, effective from January 1, 2025, were approved by majority vote.
Residential subscribers will pay 32.31 liras for 0-4 cubic meters of water, 62.45 liras for 5-10 cubic meters, 79.86 liras for 11-20 cubic meters, and 149.54 liras for 21 cubic meters and above, including the wastewater fee.
Commercial subscribers will use water at 64.61 liras for 0-4 cubic meters, 124.90 liras for 5-10 cubic meters, 159.74 liras for 11-20 cubic meters, and 299.08 liras for 21 cubic meters and above.
