ISTANBUL BAR ASSOCIATION HAD ANNOUNCED THE TOLL
The Istanbul Bar Association announced that 447 people, 20 of whom are children, have been detained since March 21 during the protests against the March 19 operations, and that 177 of them have been arrested. In the Bar Association's statement, it was said, "The arrest decision pursuant to Article 32 of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911 is disproportionate; it is a violation of the right to assembly and demonstration guaranteed by the Constitution, the right to liberty and security, and the right to education for students."
