In the footage, Y.G., a 7th-grade student at Sabancı Middle School, is seen suddenly struggling to breathe at the classroom entrance and flailing as he asks his friends for help. His friends first tried to help Y.G., whose windpipe was blocked by a piece of the cake he was eating, by hitting his back. However, when they were unsuccessful, a student from the classroom quickly ran downstairs for help. In the meantime, his teacher, Cem Bilal Kaya, came to the aid of Y.G., who had made his way into the hallway and was having extreme difficulty breathing. Cem Bilal Kaya, who performed the Heimlich maneuver on his student multiple times, succeeded in dislodging the food stuck in his windpipe after a long struggle.

During this time, the panic of the other students and teachers did not go unnoticed. After the piece of cake stuck in his throat was dislodged, Y.G. was seen breathing comfortably again and entering the restroom.
