Were the 2024 YKS questions leaked? Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya's advisor Yolcu: 'We are monitoring it'

It has been alleged that questions were leaked in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS), which will determine the fate of millions of people. While candidates and their families are uneasy due to the allegations, no statement has been made by ÖSYM.

According to a report in Sözcü, an account broadcasting via Telegram, which is claimed to be foreign-sourced, had shared 3 questions from the exam on June 8, immediately after the TYT exam ended and before ÖSYM had released them.

Candidates confirmed that the questions were indeed on the exam. ÖSYM has still not officially released the TYT questions. However, since this situation in the TYT occurred after the exam, it was not taken very seriously, as it was thought it might have been done by third parties who were exam proctors.

While ÖSYM did not make a statement regarding these 3 questions in the first stage of the exam, the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), this time, around 12:00 AM last night—10 hours before the exam that started at 10:15 AM—24 questions alleged to be on the 2024-AYT were shared by the same account on Telegram.

Tens of thousands of people saw the questions, which were heavily focused on Turkish and mathematics. Moreover, a message was shared saying, “I hope your exam goes well. I did my best for you.”

The Telegram account, which is thought to be foreign-sourced and titled “AYT 2024 Leaked Questions,” also published a link. The account or the individuals behind the account called out to candidates, saying, “Young people, the price for all AYT questions along with their answers is only 3,000 TL. If you want to succeed in the exam, access them via the link below.”

Even if the questions were not accurate, an attempt was made to commit fraud through the university exam. Later, the questions were left in the link, and the payment part was removed from the post.

WILL BE CLARIFIED AT THE END OF THE EXAM

After all candidates finish the exam at 1:15 PM, it will be possible to check whether the questions shared during the night appeared on the exam.

The account that made the posts has been placed under surveillance by the Ministry of Interior.

STATEMENT FROM ALİ YERLİKAYA'S ADVISOR

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya’s Chief Advisor Prof. Dr. Ergun Yolcu stated, “In the work carried out regarding the questions in the images published in the Telegram group in question, which are alleged to be 2024 AYT questions, it has been observed that the relevant questions are located in the official question pool of the ÖSYM and the Ministry of National Education websites. This is our initial finding, and they will be compared again after the exam. We are monitoring it.”
