What is the condition of 2-year-old baby Sıla? Statement from her aunt

The treatment of 2-year-old Sıla Y., who was allegedly subjected to sexual abuse and violence by neighbors' children 15 days ago in the Malkara district of Tekirdağ, continues at the Tekirdağ City Hospital. A total of 5 people, including her mother Bakiye Y. and other suspects, remain in custody.

Sıla's aunts, Aslı Tatar and Elif Akyüz, who have been waiting for hopeful news in front of the hospital for days, provided information on the latest situation.

“THEY SMASHED SILA'S HEAD AGAINST THE GROUND”

In her statement, Elif Akyüz said, “Today marks 15 days, and we have been here constantly for 15 days. There is still no hopeful news. When we spoke with the doctor, they said there might be a very small hope, and even that is just a possibility. That is how bad baby Sıla's condition is. When the person named Bakiye first called us, she said they were at the park and that they smashed Sıla's head against the ground and beat her. She said Sıla was in intensive care and that Açelya had been taken to a state care facility. At the police station, they told me that my sister came here on the 2nd. They stated that when she brought the baby, she claimed that her neighbor's child had assaulted the baby,” she said.

SHE YELLED AND FILED A COMPLAINT

Akyüz continued her statement, saying, “Later, when I went there, they told me this was Kani's house and that was Sanlı's house. At that moment, Bakiye was at Kani's house, and then when she saw me outside, she started yelling 'police.' And she filed a complaint against me. The police asked, 'What are you doing in the house of the person who beat your child?' That is how this knot began to unravel. We want everyone who had even the slightest hand in this to receive the heaviest punishment,” she said.
