What was the purpose of the Hrant Dink assassination 18 years ago? Important assessment from Hüseyin Özbek

AGOS Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Hrant Dink was murdered 18 years ago today after being shot by gunman Ogün Samast.

A memorial ceremony for Hrant Dink will be held today at 15:00 in front of the Sebat Apartment, where the former office of Agos Newspaper, where he was assassinated, is located.

12punto columnist and former Vice President of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations, Lawyer Hüseyin Özbek, made important assessments regarding the Hrant Dink assassination.

Stating that imperialists who wanted to put Turkey in a difficult position with the so-called Armenian genocide broke Hrant Dink's pen, Özbek drew attention to the traces of FETÖ in the Dink assassination and noted the following:

“Imperial circles, who want to accuse Turkey of the Armenian Genocide, corner it through this accusation, bring it to its knees, and destroy its resistance and determination against these accusations, broke Hrant Dink's pen the moment they decided that his death would be more profitable than his life.

The Hrant Dink murder was committed to update the claims of the April 24, 1915 Armenian genocide. The damage that would be caused by the heavy bill placed before a Turkey that would be blamed and intimidated as the perpetrator of the Dink assassination was calculated down to the finest detail. The imperial center was the architect of the Dink murder, FETÖ was the field implementer, and the gunman was merely the final link in the chain.”

Emphasizing that FETÖ members organized the Hrant Dink assassination to update the Armenian genocide slander, Özbek commented, “The purpose of the assassination was to confront Turkey with a bill so heavy it could not pay.”

Özbek's assessment is as follows;

"The imperial masterminded, who wanted to reformat April 24, 1915, and create a second Midnight Express perception, orchestrated the Hrant Dink assassination,

As you can understand, the Hrant Dink assassination was organized to update the April 24, 1915 Armenian genocide slander.

The purpose of the assassination was to confront Turkey with a bill so heavy it could not pay.

FETÖ organized the assassination. The gunman, as always, was the final link in the chain.

The cleverness of limiting the Dink assassination to the gunman and FETÖ, while shielding the masterminded behind them, still continues."
