Where is Ergenekon conspiracy case judge Hasan Hüseyin Özese? Even his lawyer doesn't know
Hasan Hüseyin Özese, the former judge of the Ergenekon conspiracy case, was sentenced to 22 years and 6 months in prison in a trial at the Court of Cassation. It is stated that Özese, who was released, has fled abroad.
Hasan Hüseyin Özese, who served as the presiding judge of the 13th High Criminal Court of Istanbul during the Ergenekon conspiracy case, was transferred from Istanbul to Sakarya following the December 17-25 corruption investigations, and was detained and arrested one day after the FETÖ July 15 coup attempt, was sentenced to 22 years and 6 months in prison in the Ergenekon Conspiracy Case heard at the Court of Cassation.
In 2019, Özese had also been sentenced to 10 years in prison by the 23rd High Criminal Court of Istanbul for the crime of "being a member of the FETÖ armed terrorist organization."
CONDITIONAL RELEASE APPLICATION ACCEPTED
According to a report by Cumhuriyet, while the execution period for Hasan Hüseyin Özese was set to end on July 14, 2026, his conditional release date had been determined as January 13, 2024.
One year before this date, Özese applied to the Bolu F-Type Prison Administration and Observation Board to benefit from supervised release. His first application was rejected, but Özese applied again three months later; this time, his request was accepted, and he was released without any judicial control measures being applied.

HIS LAWYER DOES NOT KNOW ÖZESE'S ADDRESS
It has been learned that in the ongoing trial at the Court of Cassation, Hasan Hüseyin Özese's lawyer has not submitted a power of attorney to the case file and has not provided his client's address. According to court records, it was stated that the lawyer is unaware of Özese's address.
ARREST WARRANT ISSUED
In addition to the 10-year prison sentence he received for FETÖ membership, an arrest warrant was issued on June 26 for Özese, who was sentenced to a total of 22 years and 6 months in prison for "chain-linked misconduct in office" and "chain-linked deprivation of liberty for terrorist purposes." However, Özese, who was released without any judicial control measures, has still not been apprehended.
